This message appears in WDTest6 (when run directly from the SpecWare Preferences screen rather than from the WDTest6.exe file in the SpecWare directory) when attempting the Connection Test on a Com port that does not exist (or is not recognized by SpecWare). Try testing a different Com port. If all possible Com port options have been checked, the serial port must be assigned a Com port. Alternately, some machines have more than one serial port and this other port may have a Com port already assigned. In this case, connect the gray cable to the other serial port and try the paperclip and Connection test again.
